RECYCLING

The Pope has asked us to consider, ‘what kind of a world do we want to leave for those who will come after us, the children growing up’? Most of us have got simple recycling practices worked out. (Make sure all tins and plastics are clean and check which plastics are accepted by verifying the code. Just one wrong product can send an entire truckload of perfectly good recycling to landfill.) Next up, all scrunchy plastics (which can’t go in the yellow bin) can be taken to Coles and Woolworths and put in their large recycling bin at the front of the store. Here in the Parish, you also have the opportunity to drop off your plastic lids and bread clips to the Parish Office or Church. Vanessa kindly picks them up and delivers them to Cowaramup where they are melted down and reused in artistic endeavours. Please do not mix them with beer and wine bottle caps. The cry of the earth and the cry of the poor” cannot continue to go unheeded, the pope has said. “Let’s take care of creation, a gift of God, our good creator.”
